2 months

Less than two months! Time to kick it into high gear. Last week, I finished making the unity candles, card box, flower girl basket, and ring bearer pillow. On the plate for this week: I plan to make the escort cards, rehearsal dinner invitations, favor boxes, and out-of-town gift boxes. I'm soooo relieved that I finally bought all the bridesmaid shoes -- it took forever to find cute mango-colored shoes that matched the dresses for a good price. And I also found a satin purse that matches my dress perfectly for $5! I love good deals. :)

sneak preview:

I think my mommy is more stressed than I am. In fact, I'm sure she is. She has a lot more to do than me! She's making all 5 bridesmaid dresses, the 2 flower girl dresses, my veil, bridesmaid purses (possibly, if she has time), and she has to do alterations for 12 dresses in addition to that! Not to mention all the other little things she is taking care of (i.e. the red silk signing cloth -- traditional Chinese version of a guestbook). And all this on top of taking care of my grandma, who's recovering from a stroke. Sigh. Pray for my mom if you get a chance! She loves doing this stuff, but I'm worried that it's too much...

You know what I would love to do? Go into the wedding planning business with my mom and sister. I think we'd make a great team. :) My mom could take care of all the clothing (qipaos included!) and flower-arranging, my sister could do all of the decorations and administrative planning, and I could take care of the website, stationery, and music! That would be so much fun...

invitations

done! whew. i'm so relieved that chapter of my life is over. i loved doing it, but in the end, a lot of little things added up and i'm not sure if i'd do this again. :) or at least if i do, i'm definitely NOT taking them to kinko's to cut! hours and hours of my life, GONE! -- all because kinko's cut one of the three inserts at 3.745" instead of 3.75". :)

stationery

my favorite part so far about wedding planning is designing and making all the paper products. invitations, save-the-dates, menus, seating charts, escort cards, reserved signs, programs... i love it all! the invitation design is now finished, and we're looking for a stationer to thermograph our design onto our neenahpaper (if you ever need high quality bulk paper, i highly recommend neenahpaper. i finally know what the difference is between embossing, letterpressing, engraving, and thermographing. look out for an invitation soon, and pleeeease rsvp asap so we can fill "regret" spots with more people! guest lists are mafan... i just wish we could invite everyone. sigh.

my least favorite part is asking people for help. :P

i was planning to do all the flowers myself, but i am beginning to think that isn't going to happen. :)

can't wait for the shower that my wonderful MOHs are planning! :) shower invites:

... hey! why am i the only one posting on here? ahem... groom? this is supposed to be a joint blog. :P
